About The American Association of Young People

The American Association of Young People (no affiliation with the AARP) gets vendors to reduce their prices on everything from electronics to auto insurance by giving them a focused opportunity to sell to more than 100 million young adults in the Gen X, Gen Y, and Millennial populations. Does it work? Of course! Other groups like teachers, physicians, and retirees are well mobilized, getting up to 40% discounts on things for which we pay full price! Why do we do that? Do we still have to? Not anymore. We've got leverage.

At its core, the American Association of Young People is an association that unites millions of young Americans from all walks of life, belief systems, and political perspectives toward one common goal: saving money. Why would a company such as BP give us breaks on gas? Because if they don't, the American Association of Young People's members will simply go to another gas company who wants the business. Why would Sprint give us free accessories with American Association of Young People plans? If they don't, the American Association of Young People will endorse another cellular provider. Get it? Sure you do. The cool thing about the American Association of Young People is that when you get your friends to join, our purchasing power grows with our membership - bringing bigger and better discounts to YOUR wallet.

So, what do you get? As the American Association of Young People grows, our bag of goodies will get bigger. We are working with AAA clubs across the USA to give you things like road-side assistance (who hasn't run out of gas?). Our partnership with Buy.com allows us deep discounts on electronics, music, DVDs, and books. Yes, books. Remember those? Ever since my dad handed me Robinson Crusoe and Treasure Island as a kid, I've been a ravenous reader. In fact, it was ideas and facts found in The Coming Generational Storm by Kotlikoff + Burns, Generation Debt by Anya Kamenetz, and A Whole New Mind by Dan Pink that lead to the founding of the American Association of Young People. Regardless of the books I read, I don't pay retail. I always find the best deals online on sites like Amazon, Ebay, and Craigslist.
