American Association of Young People TO RUB SHOULDERS WITH WORLD LEADERS

NEW YORK, NY, September 26, 2007 – The American Association of Young People will have unprecedented access to world luminaries at this week’s annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative. The American Association of Young People will have a presence at the three-year old event for its first time as Matt Murray, founder of the American Association of Young People, will cover the event for Swarm Magazine, the free publication of the organization.

The event coincides with the opening of the U.N. General Assembly and is expected to have thousands of world leaders, business executives, scholars, and NGO leaders in attendance.

“The CGI represents the foremost initiative built on the civic responsibility of tackling global issues that face us not as nations, but as human beings,” Murray said. “It is my responsibility to the hundred million young Americans to be aware of the issues and how they’ll affect us.”

The American Association of Young People has been tracking the Global Initiative since last year and will post daily blog entries on the topics that have the greatest interest and importance to the young American demographic. In addition to covering the event’s sessions and workshops Murray will also interview world and industry leaders as well as the general public.

“As an organization that represents young Americans, it’s extremely important for the American Association of Young People to inform its members on how these ideas and initiatives will affect young Americans, and how they can get involved,” Murray added. “But it’s also important to present all-encompassing coverage on the event for our members and readers.”
